Alister Gray BSc, MSc, MRICS – Director
Alister Gray has experience spanning two decades working for Tier 1 contractors and developers, and has obtained specialist subcontracting knowledge working in the technical Basement, Groundworks and RC Frame sector in London and the Home Counties, where he operated at all levels from Quantity Surveyor to Commercial Director. He is an MRICS Chartered Quantity Surveyor with an MSc in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution from King’s College London, where he graduated with a Distinction and received the Society of Construction Law prize for the best overall graduate of 2018/19.
He can analyse complex construction scenarios at both project and wider organisational levels to reach succinct conclusions, whether that be the identification and definition of an operational/commercial problem or the opportunity to increase efficiency in a head-office process. He can then develop and implement solutions and is confident in liaising with all individuals and parties involved to co-ordinate a team effort. He thrives on maintaining an overall awareness of the companies and clients he works for and the projects he’s involved with in order to be able to problem solve efficiently and effectively, and to prevent problems from arising through the adoption of robust governance procedures.
His Masters thesis focused on the restructuring of traditional contractual relationships and the adoption of collaborative procurement processes in order to unlock improved contributions from the supply chain. This further developed his knowledge of the PPC2000, NEC4, FIDIC & JCT contracts, and combined with his experience at various levels of the construction supply chain, gives him a unique perspective on how tendering processes and contracting relationships can be structured to generate improved value.
